[ About Vitamin ]
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) is an essential nutrient for maintenance, growth, repro-duction and health. Long-term lack of Vitamin C will lead to scurvy. For humans, the main symptoms are gum swelling, slow wound healing, bone deformation, hy-pogenesis, and reducing immunity. As to animals, they are body abnormality, in-side hemorrhage, anorexia, sleeping a lot, reducing immunity, and finally influenc-ing the growth of animals. Humans, especially aquatic species, need supplementing Vitamin C from outside sources, because they are incapable of synthesizing Vitamin C. Lower dosage addition of Vitamin C can prevent and treat scurvy. Its higher dosage supplementa-tion can improve animals' resistance to illness, environmental and physical stress.

The chemical structure of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) leads to high instability, and is easy to be destroyed by various factors such as mental, light, heat, humidity and high pressure, and release the atom of hydro-gen. Crystal Vitamin C is fairly stable in a dry condition, but is easy to be oxidized and decomposed in solution or a base environment. The most distinct feature of Vitamin C molecule is the strong deoxidization, and easy to react with some mental ion (especially Cu, Co, Mu, Zn and Fe). Vitamin C is the most unstable among various vitamin additives for aquatic feeds.
